Minneapolis’ Juicy Lucy

I don’t remember where I ate this unique burger, but when I took a trip to Minneapolis a little while back, lots of travel folks online said this is something anyone visiting the city must try!  It was crazy, melty delicious!  I have not succeeded in recreating at home yet . . . but am still trying.  Soooooo good!

Buffalo Wild Wings

During our time in Louisville, Kentucky, my wife worked at a bookstore next to a Buffalo Wild Wings.  I had never heard of the place before.  Thanks to her, I tasted BW3’s and continue to eat there on a regular basis today!  I have always loved the taste of wings but hated the mess.  Their boneless wings provide just what I’m looking for.

A few year ago, a student in my ministry at church stopped by a BW3’s and brought me in a take out box.  It smelled so good.  I couldn’t wait to open it up and enjoy the contents.  Instead, I opened the box to find out a very cruel prank had been played on me.  He had eaten his lunch and left me with the box containing nothing but a little leftover sauce and smells.  One day I will repay him for that gift.

I enjoy the variety of sauces and rubs you can get on your wings.  My current favorite sauce that I get almost every time I go is Mango Habanero.  My current favorite rub is Salt & Vinegar.  What’s your favorite?

Mark’s Feed Store

For 4 1/2 years I lived in Louisville, Kentucky.  I still remember the first time someone invited my wife and I to eat at Mark’s Feed Store.  I thought it was a joke they were playing on a couple of yankees.  Turns out, it’s a great place for mouth-watering barbecue!  I’ve taken youth groups there and even had it catered when we were close by enough.  And the day TobyMac released his Momentum solo album, I had the pleasure of sitting across the table from him and sharing some barbecue with a man I admire both as a musician and as a father & husband.

Graeter’s Ice Cream (Cincinnati)

Although my boss would give everything for some ice cream named after a flower in Texas, which does make good ice cream, after being introduced to Graeter’s a few years ago while on a service trip, I now seek out opportunities any time of the year to allow my tastebuds to enjoy the creamy deliciousness of Graeter’s Ice Cream.  My go-to flavor: Black Raspberry Chip!!!
