Recipe: Korean Ground Beef
PREP TIME: 20 minutes
COOK TIME: 30 minutes
SERVES: 8 people
INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds Ground Beef
6 cloves of garlic, crushed
2 Tbs Ginger
1 teaspoon
red chili flakes1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
4 teaspoons sesame oil
4 cups cooked rice
4 green onions, chopped
1-2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
STEPS:
Prepare Ingredients
Measure each of the ingredients listed and set aside in separate containers.
Make the Sauce
In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and red chili flakes.
Set aside.
Cook the Beef
Heat a wok or large skillet on medium heat, until water droplets sizzle.
Add 2 tablespoons sesame oil,
coating pan as it heats up.
Add ginger and garlic.
Cook for 1 minute.
Increase to medium-high heat.
Add the ground beef.
Cook until no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes.
Drain excess grease, if needed.
Prepare the Rice
Use Minute Rice
Measure 4 cups
of waterAdd to pot on stove and bring to a boil.
Once boiling, add 4 cups of rice to water.
Stir and cover, removing from heat.
Set timer for 5 minutes.
Serve.
Finish the Cook
Remix the sauce and pour over the ground beef.
Let this simmer, stirring occasionally, for 3-5 minutes.
Serve with hot rice.
Garnish optionally with green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
